The Jane Effect: Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference
Dr. Jane Goodall, renowned primatologist, environmentalist and United Nations Messenger of Peace., is considered to be the world's foremost expert on chimpanzees. Over 80 years of age now, she still travels an average of 300 days per year to speak to packed auditoriums about the threats facing chimpanzees, other environmental crises, and her reasons for hope that humankind will ultimately solve the problems it has imposed on the Earth.
Dr. Goodall is optimistic about our future and firmly believes that young people can make that difference, and we need to help them do so.
“I work with young people around the world. They are breaking down the barriers we have built between cultures, religions, nations and the natural world. We need a critical mass of young people — the next parents, teachers, lawyers, politicians, etc. — who understand that while we need money to live, we should not live for money.”
