Penangites, we are so blessed. May you always have all the sundowners you want. Cheers.

If your group or company is keen for us to speak on our many projects or adventure, let us know. We would love to do it. In the near future, once Penang is in the green zone again, our gallery will be organising workshops, including Wayang Kulit puppet making, Tuak cocktail making etc. Let me know and will keep you informed. Cheers

His work motifs are influenced by natural elements such as native plants and flowers, and he continues to hone his skills under the mentorship of master woodcarver Norhaiza Noordin. Nizam also produces souvenirs and other wood-based products as well as commission work including this lovely "Jebak Puyoh", or Quail's trap.

I brought the step ladder so that I don't have to go near the media pack. It was difficult trying to maintain physical distancing.

The ever energetic and passionate Emi, famed for organizing the Penang Yosakai festival, made good use of the former Esprit lot, after it closed due to the pandemic. Emi will be changing the exhibit every 2.5 weeks to encompass all the seasons. Do visit and be wowed.

I have always wondered why Penang doesnt have a zoo for I personally believed that a well run zoo has its benefits. No we don't need animals confined in small cages, but a good zoos, like the Singapore Zoological garden, serves a great purpose.
Humans do not protect what they don't love. Zoos are a great place for our children to learn how beautiful and amazing these creatures, big and small are.

Sad to see this grand building, within an 30 acre oil palm plantation, in such a state. I pray we preserve such beautiful heritage buildings for the future but more importantly we also protect and preserve our heritage trees and forest as well.

And last night we participated with Penang Hill Nature Walk's (PHNW) monthly night walk and had a whale of a time. If you have not explored the trails at night before, "mai thoo liau". KP and his gang at the PHNW are always eager to share their knowledge and keen, like us, to show you how amazing #ourbeautifulPenang is.

One of the easiest picture essays I've done. However, at a lost as to how cover this for video.
I had wanted to show the changing of colours but my Tokina 10-17 with the widest at f3.5, ISO had to be set to 16000 - 20000. Quality was bad.
As usual, I was trying to pack as light as possible for the quick trip to Bangkok for this exclusive concert held at the poolside of the new Marriott Marquis Queen's Park hotel. I was certain the three regular lenses that I carried (16-35mm/f2.8, 24mm-105/f4 and the 70-200mm/f2.8 and a 1.4x converter), would be enough.
Luckily my Thinktank Shapeshifter bag could take all the gear (two Canon bodies, two strobes, power pack, the three lenses, MBP and external hard disk), and left me space for another lens. Without hesitation I packed the Tokina along. I'm glad I did, for that was almost the only lens I used that night. What do you think? These images were all shot with the Tokina.

This evening was no different. From afar, the ringing of the temple bells attracted me inside. It was a beautiful ceremony. To see more images from this series.
The Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali. According to Wiki, Kali has always been popular in Bengal, the birthplace of the labourers who built this temple in 1881.

The HDB is generally credited with clearing the squatters and slums of the 1960s and resettling residents into low-cost state-built housing. Today, as many as 82% of Singaporeans live in public housing provided by the board.

Viewing a total eclipse is one of the most awe-inspiring experience in one's life.
Totality at Balikpapan was only 53 seconds. That didn't gave me much time to switch the solar filter off and and to re-adjust the exposure. I went from 1/125sec F8 1000 ASA with the solar filer to 1/160 sec f20 400 ASA at totality. Halfway totality, I began to doubt my exposure, not sure if I had underexposed it to much. With out much thinking, I decided to open up the aperture to f8 and continue shooting. Alas I forgot that at f8, I will not be able to get the flare for the diamond ring image.
Ah such is life. No regrets. Another time.
